Safer place principles
Victim Support Finland respects the principles of a safer place. Victim Support Finland’s staff and volunteers involved in the activities commit to the principles. The purpose of the principles is that it is safe for everyone to participate in Victim Support Finland’s activities as a client, volunteer, partner, and employee.
The principles of a safer place at Victim Support Finland
- Identify your prejudices. Do not make assumptions about someone’s functional ability, health, sexuality, gender, nationality, ethnicity, religion, values, or socioeconomic background.
- Respect everyone’s physical and mental boundaries. Everyone has different boundaries, and by asking, you know if you can touch another person.
- Give space. Make sure that everyone can participate in discussions and that they are heard. Be responsible for your own actions and behavior.
- Address harassment, discrimination, and inappropriate behavior as soon as possible. If this is not possible, please contact the event organizer or an employee at Victim Support Finland. Contact information
