Accessibility and Inclusivity in RIKU’s Services

At Victim Support Finland (RIKU), we strive to ensure that our services are accessible to all clients, regardless of limitations or disabilities. We are committed to providing a safe and barrier-free physical and digital environment so that everyone can receive the support they need.

Accessibility of Service Points

Unfortunately, not all RIKU service points are physically accessible, but we find solutions for all face-to-face meetings with clients. For instance, if a client using a wheelchair is located in an area where the service point can only be accessed via stairs, we arrange an alternative, accessible location for the meeting.

If you would like to meet face-to-face at a service point, it is necessary to schedule an appointment in advance, during which you can also confirm that the facilities meet your needs.

Accessible Websites and Digital Services

RIKU’s website, where you are currently browsing, is designed to meet the accessibility standards mandated by the Digital Services Act. This means our site can be read and navigated using assistive devices such as screen readers. We have paid attention to color contrast, text clarity, and ease of navigation to ensure that all users can access our site without barriers. Read more in our accessibility statement.

Each page on riku.fi has blue buttons at the bottom where you can leave feedback about that specific webpage.

Plain Language Materials and Use of Interpreters

We provide key materials in plain language to make our messages understandable for those with cognitive challenges, learning difficulties, or who are just beginning to learn Finnish. We also have an illustrated guide to the criminal process for individuals who communicate using visual aids. Guidance for crime victims in plain Finnish and as visual boards.

In addition, we use reliable interpreters in our services as needed.

Options for Contacting RIKU: Phone, Online, or In-Person
